New CODE Resource: Creating and Delivering Accessible Presentations

Creating and delivering an effective presentation for your event, pitch or all-staff meeting is critical to connecting with your audience.

But for your presentation to be effective for your entire audience – including people with disabilities – you need to make sure your content is designed with accessibility in mind.

This guide serves as a valuable resource for training content developers and presenters in your organization on how to create and present accessible content.

Created by Incluzia, this resource includes information to help your organization create presentations that (1) meet Accessibility for Manitobans Act (AMA) compliance requirements for the Information and Communications Standard and (2) follow best practices and guidelines using accessible print materials, incorporating common audio and video technology and assistive technology.

Online Training Now Available on the Accessible Information and Communication Standard

The Accessible Information and Communication Standard, which came into force for the Manitoba government on May 1, 2022, focuses on removing and preventing barriers in digital, print, and technological interactions.

This standard will also apply to public sector organizations, large municipalities, libraries, and educational institutions starting May 1, 2024, and will extend to small municipalities, private sector, and non-profit organizations by May 1, 2025.

To ensure compliance, free online training is now available anytime, from anywhere. For organizations looking to integrate these modules into their internal Learning Management System, the Online Learning Portal offers downloadable standard-specific modules at no cost.

Each organization must accept a Terms of Use agreement to access and download the learning modules. Don’t miss this opportunity to enhance your organization’s accessibility practices.
