FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 2024: First Canadian Around the Moon

Jeremy Hansen, Canadian Space Agency astronaut 
For our first Membership Luncheon of the season, we are Moon-bound with Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen, who will be the first Canadian to ever fly around the Moon. Jeremy will fly the Artemis II mission, the first crewed flight test of the Orion spacecraft launching on the SLS rocket. During his presentation, Jeremy will talk about his career path and his role as a crewmember of Artemis II, but also about Canada’s role in Moon exploration and the need for future talent in our country’s space industry.

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 23, 2024: The Power of Canadian Entrepreneurs

Adeela Carter and Amoye Henry, Co-Founders, Pitch Better Canada

Diverse entrepreneurs are reshaping the industry with fresh perspectives and innovative solutions. Panel: Travel Manitoba and Tourism Winnipeg

Winnipeg has been named a top travel destination by National Geographic Traveler, Lonely Planet and TIME. In 2023, our city attracted approximately 4.2 million visitors, resulting in an estimated $1.1 billion spend on tourism.

In January, we’ll welcome a panel of Winnipeg tourism leaders to share lessons learned post-pandemic and reflect on the future of tourism here in our city.

FRIDAY, MARCH 14, 2025: State of the City

Mayor Scott Gillingham

The Chamber’s highly anticipated annual State of the City Address draws one of The Chamber’s largest audiences, ready to network and engage with community leaders. Mayor Scott Gillingham will address Winnipeggers to share more on his third year, address promises, and give a comprehensive progress report since taking office.

THURSDAY, APRIL 17, 2025: Welcoming Winnipeg’s Newest Police Chief

The perception of police forces continues to be a growing conversation. A 2024 report stated that property crimes are the biggest problem right now for Winnipeggers, which shows that crime continues to be a top concern for Winnipeg business owners and that prevention is a top priority.  

As the Winnipeg Police Service works to build safe and healthy neighbourhoods, how are they addressing concerns of those living and working in Winnipeg? Winnipeg will welcome its newest police chief in this September and in April 2025, we will welcome them to The Chamber stage to share plans and priorities for the community and businesses. 


 

FRIDAY, MAY 16, 2025: Reconciliation in Action through Wehwehneh Bahgahkinahgohn

Southern Chiefs’ Organization’s transformative project, Wehwehneh Bahgahkinahgohn, aims to repurpose the historic Hudson’s Bay Company building in downtown Winnipeg into a space for economic and social reconciliation.

The project is set to create substantial social and economic opportunities. Get a look into the progress and economic impact of Wehwehneh Bahgahkinahgohn thus far, its aspirations and what this bold act of economic reconciliation means for everyone.
