Our first Business Crews cohort in Winnipeg is underway and the conversations, collaboration and partnerships have only just begun.
For those who don’t know, virtual Business Crews is a networking activity that uses intelligent matchmaking to group participants who share similar objectives. Participants are placed into groups designed with their specific interests in mind, and then meet with the same group of 15 – 20 people weekly over a four-week period to discuss and collaborate on achieving their business objectives. Meetings are led by an experienced facilitator in order to maximize the networking experience.
Every week Business Crews facilitators lead the conversation around a specific theme. Some of the topics include:
-
Sharing personal accomplishments and challenges
-
Discussing career paths and milestones
- Engaging in conversation around influences as a professional
Following every meeting, participants are asked to individually meet with at least 2 people from their group before the next meeting.
Though the program has only just begun, participants have already been benefiting from the interactions and networking.
“Effective networking has felt all-but-impossible over the past year. The Business Crews program has drastically changed that perception for me and my business! It’s been a really positive experience getting to make new connections, expand my network and simply hear other business owners’ stories. I would strongly recommend the program to any business owner who is committed to networking.”
– Thomas Johnson, Financial Security Advisor, Cascade Financial Group Inc.
“Business Crews has been a wonderful experience. I have been able to make connections with 14 business leaders every week where we get to learn and experience what each of us has to offer. I have had one on one meetings with 7 individuals, where I have heard more about them and their businesses, as well the opportunity to formulate possible partnerships. I would highly recommend everyone take part in Business Crews.
It gives you an opportunity to hear how other businesses adapt and learn about inspirational business beginnings and their success now. You can be a mentor or be mentored. It is worth it to be a part of this program.”
– Kimberley Kiemeney, Client Outreach Coordinator, Comforts of Homecare
