No time is more relevant for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems than winter. So, before the frost hits, make sure you’re familiar with Efficiency Manitoba’s Heat Pump Program and Variable Flow Pump and Fan Systems rebate!

Heat Pump Program

Check out Efficiency Manitoba’s Heat Pump Program to determine which heat pump best suits your business needs. Get a rebate and save energy when you install either an air source heat pump or ground ground source heat pump.

Ground Source Heat Pumps

A ground source heat pump might be better suited for your business needs if you have a large space available to install a ground loop. They can also reduce your electric heating costs by up to 60%! Before applying for Efficiency Manitoba’s rebate, be sure to confirm that:

A ground source heat pump is more efficient but costs more and takes longer to install. Reach out to The Chamber’s energy and climate advocate, Casey Clair to discuss which heat pump is best for your business.

Variable Flow Pump and Fan Systems

Are you looking to increase the efficiency of your HVAC system? Efficiency Manitoba has a rebate for variable flow pump and fan systems that will help reduce your maintenance, operating, and energy costs. There are rebates available for variable frequency drives used with inverter duty induction motors and variable speed permanent magnet motors.  To qualify for a rebate you must apply and receive approval from Efficiency Manitoba before the equipment is ordered and work begins. The installation must be a retrofit project, the equipment is intended for a commercial or agricultural HVAC application, and the variable flow pump and fan systems are:

  • 100 HP or less.
  • Installed permanently.
  • Estimated to operate a minimum of 1,600 hours (about 2 months) annually.
  • Used for ventilation and/or pumping projects.
  • Applied to variable flow projects.

To get started, contact a registered Efficiency Manitoba supplier or get in touch with Casey Clair at The Chamber for more information.
