Keynote Speaker: The Honourable Wab Kinew, Premier of Manitoba

The Winnipeg Chamber will welcome Manitoba’s 25th Premier, the Honourable Wab Kinew, for his first State of the Province Address where he will shed light on what Manitobans can expect moving forward.

With over 1000 business and community leaders in attendance, the State of the Province event is the business community’s opportunity to hear more about the province’s approach and priorities. This will be an event you won’t want to miss.

WINTER CLOTHING DRIVE

This year, The Chamber is partnering with Koats for Kids to collect winter gear at our annual State of the Province Address to help ease the strain on many families—and keep kids warm and safe this season. Urgently needed items include:

  • boots for kids and adults (all sizes)
  • gloves/mitts for kids and adults
  • scarves/neck warmers
  • men’s coats (all sizes)
  • women’s coats (size large)
  • boys’ coats (sizes 8 to 12)
  • boys’ ski pants (sizes 10, 12, 14, 16)
  • girls’ ski pants (sizes 8, 10, 12)

We ask that you please bring new or gently-used winter gear with you to registration. Thank you so much for sharing your winter gear to help little Winnipeggers!

ABOUT THE KEYNOTE

Premier Wab Kinew is the 25th premier of Manitoba. Kinew was first elected as the MLA for Fort Rouge in 2016 and was elected party leader and leader of the official opposition in 2017. He is the son of Dr. Tobasonakwut Kinew and Dr. Kathi Kinew and is from the Onigaming First Nation in northwestern Ontario. Before becoming an MLA, Kinew worked as a broadcaster and as an administrator at the University of Winnipeg. He holds a bachelor of arts degree in economics from the University of Manitoba and a master’s degree in Indigenous governance. Kinew is an honorary witness of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and a bestselling author. He is a caring dad to three boys and a devoted husband to his wife Lisa, who is a doctor.
