ABOUT EVENT:
Join us in celebrating National Volunteer Week at Special Olympics Manitoba with Volunteer Manitoba!
Members can expect to learn about the Special Olympics global movement and the different volunteer opportunities available within our organization. We will provide a short presentation on who we are, what we do, and the programs that we offer our athletes across the province, as well as give a quiz at the end of the presentation, where members will have a chance to win some prizes. If time permits, we can also provide a tour of the Sport Manitoba building, where some of our athletes and volunteers take part in different opportunities.
ABOUT SPECIAL OLYMPICS:
Special Olympics Manitoba is recognized as the sport governing body for individuals with an intellectual disability, today we provide 18 sports to over 1900 athletes in all seven regions of the Province. We are a registered non-profit charity, in which funds raised provide quality sport programming for our athletes. We continue to be dedicated to promoting respect, acceptance, inclusion and human dignity for people with an intellectual disability through sport.
