ABOUT EVENT:
Manitoba has the largest gap in employment rates between non-Indigenous and Indigenous peoples of all the provinces and territories. Participants attending this workshop will get introduced to the Employer Consortium* and the TRC92 Youth Employment Lab – innovative solutions that close the gap and learn from the experiences of 30+ companies committed to providing equitable access to employment, training, and advancement for Indigenous young people in culturally safe workplaces.
What you can expect to learn:
- The business imperative for advancing reconciliation
- Tangible ways companies can move beyond the ‘why’ and into the ‘how’ of reconciliation
- Learn from the experiences and changes companies made to address address structural barriers to employment for Indigenous people
*More information: The Employer Consortium is a group of 30+ companies committed to providing equitable access to employment, training, and advancement for Indigenous young people in culturally safe workplaces. The TRC92 Youth Employment Lab brings together diverse co-creation teams that are actively designing, adapting, and implementing systemic solutions that address structural barriers to employment for Indigenous young people aged 18-29.
