Speaker: Kailey Gilchrist, Canada’s 2SLGBTQI+ Chamber of Commerce

Supplier diversity is not just a buzzword; it’s a strategic advantage. This workshop will demystify the concept of supplier diversity, offering practical insights on how businesses can incorporate diverse suppliers into their operations. We will explore how supplier diversity aligns with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) mandates and goals, highlighting why diversity is essential for business innovation, sustainability, and competitiveness. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the role of certifying bodies like the CGLCC: Canada’s 2SLGBTQI+ Chamber of Commerce and others, and how these organizations can support businesses in staying ahead of evolving DEI mandates, ensuring they retain top talent and loyal customers.

ABOUT OUR SPEAKER

Kailey Gilchrist brings a dynamic perspective to the CGLCC team, with over 11 years of experience in business development and as a Certified Diverse Supplier with her company, NONA Vegan. Leading a successful CPG food business has taught her versatility and resilience in entrepreneurship. Actively engaged with CGLCC for the past 5 years, she has attended Global Trade Missions, won pitch competitions, obtained Rainbow Registered status, and participated in the Out for Business Youth Program. Now in the role of Manager of Corporate Business Development, Kailey holds a genuine commitment to fostering partnerships with organizations and supporting suppliers in their journeys. Having completed Tuck Executive Education programs at Dartmouth for Starting and Growing a Successful Diverse Business, she brings both practical experience and education to her role. Additionally, holding a degree in Theatre Studies from the University of Guelph, Kailey’s creative background may just be her ‘secret sauce’ in the world of business.
