ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Stephanie Kababie-Papadopolo

Born in Guatemala, I am a Hispanic immigrant who is grateful to call Canada home. After earning a university softball scholarship in Missouri and working on the philanthropy team at the St. Louis Crisis Nursery, I returned to my cherished Winnipeg with my husband. As a devoted mother of three kids, they inspire me to stay motivated, explore every corner of this amazing planet and pursue my passion to advocate for diversity and equality for all.

Throughout my career, I have successfully managed fundraising campaigns, developed marketing strategies, executed sponsorships, and facilitated cross-promotions for a variety of brands and organizations. Building relationships is my true passion, and my goal has always been to optimize resources while ensuring the best returns for all partners involved, all while upholding the integrity of the organizations, brands, and clients I work with.

My diverse background has been essential to my professional growth, giving me a well-rounded understanding of the non-profit sector, public relations, sponsorship management, event coordination, and community relationship building. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English and Communications and an Associate of Arts in Journalism and Political Science. My educational journey was fulfilling, covering media communication, editing, publishing, and fundraising, which inspired me to pursue writing as a side passion while also influencing the everyday work I love.

I am deeply passionate about my work between 9 and 5, but my family and friends are my heartbeat. With that in mind, I strive to ensure that my time in the community is meaningful and try to seek out working environments that prioritize DEI, where leadership values their employees and where the team is making a positive impact in the community.

Yes, I am a proud Guatenadian (Guatemalan and Canadian), and I am thrilled to live, work, and play in Winnipeg.
