It’s Small Business Week this October 15th – 21st and we want to keep you up to date on the incentives and programs available for business owners who are looking to make energy efficiency upgrades to their businesses to save energy and money.

Small Business Program
It wouldn’t be Small Business Week without mentioning Efficiency Manitoba’s Small Business Program. Get free basic energy-saving products installed, as well as a free lighting and pitched roof attic insulation assessment to see if you can benefit from a Premium Upgrade, too! The Small Business Program offers two levels of energy efficiency upgrades so you can pick the one that’s right for you. Through the Basic Upgrade you can receive free A-line LED bulbs, bathroom and kitchen faucet aerators, pre-rinse spray valves, showerheads, and a free Premium Upgrade assessment. Through the Premium Upgrade you can receive LED linear lamps, specialty LED bulbs, LED exit signs, smart thermostats, lighting controls and pitched roof attic insulation with a 70% incentive. To qualify, your business must be under 15,000 square feet, not be part of a national franchise or chain, have ten or fewer locations in Manitoba, and you must pay an energy bill (at a commercial rate).

Business Lighting Program
If you don’t qualify for the Small Business Program, check out Efficiency Manitoba’s Business Lighting Program for your LED lighting needs. The Business Lighting Program offers comprehensive rebates on eligible LED lighting, including LED lamps, fixtures, backlit signs, and lighting controls. Right now, there’s an extended 25% bonus on LED lighting for Business Lighting Program projects completed by March 31, 2024.
