Our club will be holding our annual International Speech and Table Topics contest on Friday, March 21, 2014. This event is always a tremendous showcase of the abilities of our members and the overall passion and energy that all We Believer’s possess. What is different this year is that this event will be held at The Winnipeg Free Press Café in the Exchange District!
For The Chamber, it was a simple idea – help develop the speaking and leadership skills of a group of positive-minded people, and they could become ambassadors for Winnipeg and The Chamber.
That was the beginning of the We Believe Toastmasters Club, now one of the fast-growing Toastmasters clubs in the city.
Well on its way to reaching 30 members, the club meets every second Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. Membership is $95 for Chamber members and $125 for non-members.
The program includes prepared speeches and two-minute “table topics” where individuals are asked to speak spontaneously on issues related to Winnipeg. All presenters are offered positive feedback to enhance their skills.
