Working in partnership with Mayor Brian Bowman’s office, the Small Business SUMMIT is a half-day event hosted by The Chamber that will provide a platform for Winnipeg’s small business community to provide input on the conditions they need to succeed, identify any issues that need to be addressed, and to understand city programs, policies, or initiatives that are available to assist them in being successful.

WHY DO I PAY BUSINESS TAX?
Every business pays taxes, but do you know how your taxes are working for you? City Hall wants you to know how it invests your business taxes, then during roundtable portion attendees will be able to present new ideas on how to improve the City’s return on investment.


NAVIGATING THE RED TAPE

From zoning restrictions to acquiring permits and licences, understanding process at City Hall can be a challenge. With advice on how to navigate City Hall, you will put your business in a better position to succeed. Cut through the red tape by understanding how decisions are made.

DOING BUSINESS WITH THE CITY
There are many opportunities for your small business to work with the City of Winnipeg. Learn about procurement and how to be a successful bidder with the City. Our speaker will give you tips on how to present a winning bid and different ways to submit an expression of interest.
