This year’s keynote speaker Bill Morrissey will talk about
his experience and what he learned selling Winnipeg to the world and making the business case for Winnipeg.
In December 2008 Morrissey led Selling Winnipeg to the World (SWTTW)—a
private sector initiative launched by the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce.
The aim of SWTTW was to:
– Grow Winnipeg’s private-sector business economy
– Create jobs
– Expand the market for existing business
– Expand the tax base for investment in municipal infrastructure, programs and services
Two years later SWTTW transitioned to Yes!Winnipeg as an initiative within Economic Development Winnipeg and officially began operations January 2011.
