Our world is becoming increasingly small and to be successful, companies need to consider the world as their market. Consumers and companies no longer make all of their purchases locally. Just look around you to check the ‘Made in Canada’ products. Importing can be a lucrative venture as Canadians enjoy a wide selection of products from around the globe. In this seminar, you will learn the basic steps of importing to reduce your risk and anxiety facing this new adventure.

This seminar will provide an overview of the essential steps to get your product into Canada:

Obtaining a business number for an import licence
Using licensed customs brokers
Determining country of origin, permits and restrictions
Tariff classification and applicable tariffs and duties
GST, excise tax/duty
Shipping methods, release of goods
