How Can Your Business Take Part in Truth and Reconciliation?

1 in 7 Manitobans are Indigenous and the population is growing. Participants will gain an understanding of the context of Indigenous people in Canada, in a time where Indigenous are recognized as the youngest and fastest growing population. This seminar will give you an introduction on how to find resources and respond to Truth and Reconciliation Commissions (TRC) Calls to Action Number 92, to the corporate and business sector.

NOTE: Please feel free to bring a snack or brown bag lunch to make the most of this session.

Attendees will learn the following:

1. Learn about Indigenous based businesses, resources and strategies on Truth and Reconciliation Commissions, calls to action
2. A better understanding of what you hear in the media related to reconciliation
3. A different perspective and a better understanding of the history of Indigenous Canada

Jessica Dumas is an Indigenous professional coach and facilitator. She has served as the past chairperson of the Aboriginal Chamber of Commerce and is currently a Board of Director for the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce. She was recognized in 2015 as a 40 under 40 Manitoban making a difference and in 2017 as a Future Leader of Manitoba.
