This seminar will cover the potential Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Retail Services Tax (RST) issues facing businesses. While most businesses pay attention to income taxes, they sometimes overlook GST and RST implications. Overlooking these taxes can result in significant assessments by tax authorities.

Hussein is a senior analyst in the Indirect Tax Advisory Practice in the prairies – based in Winnipeg. He assists in advising businesses on the application of indirect taxes, including the GST/HST, RST, excise, motor fuels, sales & use taxes and custom duties within their operations. Hussein also has experience in both the advisory and recovery aspects of indirect tax.
Andrew is a partner at Deloitte LLP in Calgary, where he leads the Indirect Tax Advisory Practice in the prairies. He advises businesses on their indirect tax issues, including reviewing reorganizations, assisting with corporate takeovers, reviewing transaction implications and providing audit defense support. Prior to joining Deloitte LLP, Andrew also worked as a tax counsel at EY Law LLP, the law firm allied with EY LLP.
