CentrePort Canada was recently named one of the top 100 infrastructure projects in North America and will be recognized later this month at the 2nd annual North American Strategic Infrastructure Leadership Forum.
The prestigious designation, awarded by Leadership Forum host CG/LA Infrastructure, recognizes CentrePort Canada's strategic contribution to long-term competitiveness in North America.

Winnipeg Technical College has appointed John Bobbette as its new president and CEO, effective Oct. 18. Bobbett was vice-president of Student and International Services at Georgian College in Barrie, Ont.

Val Meiners (Puff the Clown) and Deanna Hartmier (Dee Dee the Clown) of Laughter Without Borders have expanded their performances outside Canada. In November, they are going to India to perform at an International Clown Festival. This will be the first time professional clowns from Canada will be in India performing onstage.

The Manitoba School Boards Association has launched a campaign Take 5 - Choose Involvement - to encourage Winnipeggers to vote in the Oct. 27 election for local school trustees.
The association has published a pamphlet urging voters to take 5 minutes to consider: 5 reasons to care about public schools, 5 reasons school boards matter and 5 qualities to look for in a candidate. In addition to the pamphlet, the association is encouraging people to go to its Web site www.schoolboardswork.ca.
