Biography - Dave Angus
Dave Angus, president and CEO, The Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce

Dave Angus is committed to the Chamber movement. As a small business owner, he was elected in 1996 for a one-year term as chair of the board of directors of The Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce.
In June 1999, he was hired as president and CEO of The Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce.
In addition to that role, Dave has served as president of the Chamber of Commerce Executives of Canada and represented local chambers on the Canadian Chamber of Commerce’s Strategic Planning Committee. He currently sits on the board of directors of the American Chamber of Commerce Executives as the Canadian representative and The Chamber of Commerce Group Insurance Plan.
His background as part owner of a family promotions business and as director of marketing for Transcontinental Distribution, a division of Transcontinental Printing, has provided him with a keen understanding of the issues facing Winnipeg business.
As president and CEO, Dave has represented The Chamber on numerous committees and panels including: the City of Winnipeg’s Red Tape Commission, the Mayor’s Trade Council, the Premier’s Economic Advisory Council task forces on image and competitiveness, the Downtown Council and the Employer of Choice task force.
Under his leadership, The Chamber has increased its membership to the highest level in its history (more than 2,050 corporate members) and has been recognized by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce as an Accredited Chamber with Distinction. A recent Probe Research poll also revealed The Chamber is the most credible, trusted business organization in the province.
In addition to his business interests, Dave appreciates Winnipeg’s quality of life and is actively involved in many community organizations. He currently sits on the board of Prairie Theatre Exchange as past-chair, is actively involved with the Campaign Cabinet for United Way and is a member of the YM/YWCA board.
Dave is a graduate of Transcona Collegiate and received his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Manitoba in 1982. He is married (wife Cindy) and has two sons.
